Maria and her son Mario founded the AMI (Association Montessori Internationale) in 1929, and it has continued diligently to safeguard its pedagogy. Today, the organization is dedicated to research and development, global outreach, and scientific documentation of Montessori practices. In the US, its affiliate body - AMI-USA - provides a school recognition program which includes a comprehensive review during enrollment, plus ongoing assessment every three years to guarantee that standards are met. All lead educational guides at Wonderland Trophy Club have earned their respective credentials from AMI.
Based on research comparing high-fidelity Montessori programs to supplemented Montessori programs, it has been shown that after one year, students in the high-fidelity Montessori environment demonstrated improved working memory, planning, reading, and vocabulary skills, as well as a better understanding of fairness and sharing. Research on young children, adolescence, and adulthood indicates a change in statistical improvement.
